The following topics are envisaged: 

VSRs

Fostering the localization of the Global Agendas is at the heart of the priorities of UCLG as a global network. Providing the local perspective to the national policies and in particular the national reporting is an important part of this process. UCLG has been promoting the development of so-called ‘Voluntary Subnational Reviews’ (VSR) in six countries. Building on last year's experience and the lessons learnt, this year we are facilitating the elaboration of VSRs in eight other countries, in direct collaboration with national associations of local and regional governments.

Connecting across Habitat Rights and the Right to the City: building on the dialogues with United Nations Special Rapporteurs

Building on the Town Hall process that articulated the dialogue of the World Organization with civil society, UCLG, HIC and the Platform for the Right to the city have been fostering structural dialogue with the United Nations Special Rapporteurs. This session will present the state of this dialogue and put up for discussion possible next steps in order to guarantee synchronization with the different parts of the network and contribute to influencing the multilateral system while consolidating the seat at the global table.

Conexión entre los Derechos del Hábitat y el Derecho a la Ciudad: aprovechar los diálogos con los Relatores Especiales de las Naciones Unidas

Partiendo del proceso del Cabildo Público que articuló el diálogo de la Organización Mundial con la sociedad civil, CGLU, HIC y la Plataforma por el Derecho a la Ciudad han fomentado el diálogo estructural con los Relatores Especiales de las Naciones Unidas. En esta sesión se presentará el estado de este diálogo y se pondrán a debate los posibles pasos a seguir para garantizar la sincronización con las diferentes partes de la red y contribuir a influir en el sistema multilateral al tiempo que se consolida el asiento en la mesa global.
