Under the theme "Welcome to The Hague, 125 Years as International City of Peace and Justice," this session celebrates the city’s long-standing legacy as a global center for peace and justice.

Mayor Jan van Zanen will formally welcome the esteemed members of the UCLG World Council to his city, paying tribute to its historic legacy as a global center of justice. The program will include distinguished speakers, with high-level representation from the United Nations, the Dutch Government, and UCLG, along with cultural performances that capture the spirit of this occasion.

Following the ceremony, a reception at the City Hall will provide an informal setting for attendees to connect and exchange ideas with fellow participants.
