️🎯 Description:

The Policy Debate on “Opportunities for All: Redefining Finance and Economies of Equality” will revolve around the need to completely transform the current economic and financial systems which destroy ecosystems and deepen inequalities. Based on the shared aspirations of our Constituency, the objective is to ensure that all financial decisions, monitoring, management and planning are grounded on people, but also the planet’s needs and wellbeing through a rights-based approach.

Participants will be encouraged to tackle both the changes expected in the functioning of the economic and financial systems (how we finance) but also to think outside the box and question the underlying value systems themselves (what we finance and why). It is crucial for this debate to pay attention to the role of marginalized groups in global economic governance as well as various forms of intersecting and systemic discrimination.
