️🎯 Description:

The Policy Debate on “Multilevel Governance: Regaining Trust” departs from the premise of the inseparable relationship of public services and trust and that multilevel governance is a strength to count on to respond to complex emergencies. The discussion will be centered on co-creation and the involvement of citizens in decision-making processes of their cities and regions. Aware of the current environment of polarization, rise of extremisms and communication bubbles, which contribute to the overall atmosphere of mistrust, the aim of the debate is to identify tools and pathways towards achieving the new social contract by rebuilding trust. The shared aspirations, proposals and expectations from our Constituency include promoting proximity, transparency, quality journalism and scientific cooperation, but also ensuring safe environments for elected officials. Overall, exchanges will revolve around the renewal of local democracy and democratizing as a pathway to equality.
